Studies show that 1 in 4 children go to bed hungry every night.  We would like to make a big impact in this area with families.  Our mission is to provide backpacks of food each weekend for the children, food boxes for the families that are in a financial crisis.  

We know that many kids are able to qualify for free breakfast and lunch so that they can eat at school, however what happens Friday after school through Monday morning?  Most teachers and counselors have shared with us most of the kids on that meal plan go hungry until it's dinner time.  Most of the families can only afford to feed their families one meal a day and they choose dinner since the kids can qualify for free meals at school.  So we have created a FILL A BACKPACK program with the schools to identify those children who need more food at home.  We will provide them with a backpack full of items like fruit cups, cereal cups, granola bars, individual mac n cheese or spaghetti type meals.  Items that essentially they will be able to eat on their own in case their parents aren't home to cook. They will receive their backpack of food discreetly before school dismal on Fridays and they will return the backpack Monday morning and we will repeat this weekly.  On the School Breaks we will get permission to bring food boxes to help supply the family with food over the 1-2 break period (depending on school district).

Rally your friends, family, neighbors, co-workers, and church members and begin gathering food for the food boxes which are meal type foods, and individual packaged items for us to fill backpacks to send home with children over the weekends.  Give yourself a goal of 10 days and see how much of an impact you can make with us. 


Cereal Cups, Oatmeal, Breakfast Bars

Fruit cups (applesauce, pears, peaches, etc.)

Juice, water, sports drinks, kool aid, etc.

Instant Lunch items (mac & cheese cups, ravioli, top ramen, etc)

Granola Bars crunchy and chewy

Individual bags of crackers, fruit snacks, and chips

Dessert items (cookies, jello, pudding, etc)


Cereal, oatmeal, pancake/waffle mix, muffin mix

Canned Vegetables (corn, green beans, peas),
Soups, Chili, Broths, Beans

Canned Fruit (peaches, pears, applesauce)

Rice, Pasta, Mashed Potatoes, Beans in box or bags

Spaghetti Sauce cans or jars

Peanut butter and jelly/jam

Snacks:  Chips, granola bars, cookies

Baked goods:  cake mix, cookie mix, jello, pudding, muffin mix

Drinks:  water bottles, sports drinks, lemonade, juice, kool aid

Staple items:  flour, sugars, baking powder, baking soda, salt, pepper, seasonings, marinades, corn starch, vegetable oil, 


Frozen Turkey, Beef Roasts, Cranberry Sauce, Gravy, Stuffing, Box or Bag of Potatoes, Canned Vegetables, Rolls, and Cakes/Pies
